ALLEGHENY STAINLESS TYPE 410 is a hardenable 12% chromium type of stainless steel. It has good resistance to corrosion and oxidation and offers a wide range of mechanical properties obtainable by heat treatment. It has such a high hardenability that it can be hardened readily by air cooling and it may be tempered at temperature up to 1350 F to produce high impact resistance. Among its many applications are knives, mechanical blades and other miscellaneous cutting tools for numerous corrosive environments. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: SS-388. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation.
