CRUCIBLE 403 is a hardenable steel containing 11.50-13.00% chromium. Its composition and mill processing are controlled carefully to produce a product capable of meeting the severe requirements of steam turbine blading and other high-requirement uses. Crucible 403 is magnetic at all times. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness, creep, and fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-398.
