Abstract
ALUMINUM 5086 is a non-heat-treatable aluminum alloy. It is characterized by high strength, excellent weldability and excellent resistance to corrosion. Among its many uses are structural towers, welded boat hulls, tanks and pipe lines. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fatigue. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-28. Producer or source: Aluminum alloy mills. Originally published July 1955, revised February 1960,revised December 1981.
