Abstract
DOWMETAL H is a sand casting alloy combining good corrosion resistance, good machinability with excellent mechanical properties. Commonly used in the solution heat treated condition (T4), tho alloy also responds favorably to an age-hardening heat treatment (T6). This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive, shear, and bearing strength as well as fracture toughness, creep, and fatigue. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: Mg-9. Producer or source: The Dow Chemical Company.
