Abstract
OSTALLOY 217-440 is a non-eutectic, bismuth-base alloy that melts through the temperature range 217-440 F. Its low-melting temperature and controlled-shrinkage characteristics make it a valuable tool of industry for such applications as punch dies and plates, anchoring parts for machining, chuck jaws and other holding devices for manufacturing operations. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and hardness. It also includes information on casting, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: Bi-19. Producer or source: Arconium Corporation of America, A.J Oster Company.
