Abstract
RMI 5A1-5Sn-2Zr-2Mo-Si is an alpha-type titanium alloy recommended for high-temperature applications in the 800-1000 F range. In the mill annealed condition it has a typical room-temperature yield strength of 126,000 psi and a typical yield strength (in short-time elevated-temperature tensile test) of 80,000 psi at 1000 F. Its uses include elevated-temperature service and jet-engine components. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness and creep. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: Ti-78. Producer or source: RMI Company.
