Abstract
ALUMINUM 6262 is an alloy with an excellent combination of machinability, strength and resistance to corrosion. Lead and bismuth are added to provide free-machining characteristics. Its many applications include screw-machine products, housewares, marine parts. aerospace fittings and general hardware. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fatigue. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-182. Producer or source: Various aluminum companies. Originally published December 1968, revised December 1980.
