TIMKEN CBS 1000M is a specialty carburizing steel for service up to 800 F in bearings, gears and other components used to transmit power. It is ordinarily supplied vacuum melted for bearings, gears, and other heavy-duty items. For other less stringent applications, it is standard practice to supply CBS 1000M vacuum degassed. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness.
