Abstract
TECHALLOY 36 Alloy is an iron-nickel alloy that has a thermal expansion rate about 10% of the rate for carbon steel up to 400 F. It provides the lowest thermal expansion rate of all similar types of alloys. It has fairly good room-temperature mechanical properties in the annealed condition: a tensile strength of 71,000 psi and an elongation of 41%; also, it is tough at cryogenic temperatures. Among its many applications are electronic components, cryogenic parts and aircraft controls. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: Fe-58. Producer or source: Techalloy Company Inc..
