Abstract
ALLOY 188 is a cobalt-base alloy designed for critical high-temperature applications up to 2000 F. It offers the excellent oxidation resistance of the chromium-nickel alloys (through a minute addition of lanthanum) and good post-aging ductility. It is primarily a solid-solution-strengthened alloy, is readily cold worked to increase strength and hardness, and is weldable by conventional methods. It is used in the aerospace, chemical and nuclear fields. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Co-76. Producer or source: Superior Tube Company.
