Abstract

TECH-TRONIC 50 stainless steel is a chromium-nickel-manganese austenitic iron-base alloy strengthened by an addition of nitrogen (0.20-0.40%). It has approximately twice the yield strength of AISI Types 316 and 316L at room temperature; in addition, its corrosion resistance is greater than that provided by these two stainless steels. TECH-TRONIC 50 also possesses very good mechanical properties at elevated and sub-zero temperatures. Among its many applications are fasteners, chains, and marine hardware. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-351. Producer or source: Techalloy Company Inc..
