Abstract

AISI 5135 is a low-alloy, through-hardening steel containing nominally 0.95% chromium. It is recommended for applications where medium hardenability, moderate strength and low-to-moderate toughness are sufficient. It may be used in the unhardened (annealed, as-rolled, or normalized) condition or after quenching in oil followed by tempering. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SA-323. Producer or source: Alloy steel mills and foundries.
