APACHE is an air-hardening, cold-work die steel that exhibits less distortion during heat treatment than water or oil-hardening steel and many other air-hardening steels. Its low-distortion characteristic makes it attractive for applications where close size tolerance is important. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: TS-295. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation.
