CARPENTER 21-12 is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel which offers an excellent combination of high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance for exhaust valve applications. It is used widely as the head material in two-piece valves for both diesel and gasoline engines. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness and creep. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-310. Producer or source: Carpenter Technology Corporation.
