AISI Type O6 is a free-machining, oil-hardening tool steel designed for cold-work dies. Because about one-third of its carbon is present as graphite, it has excellent machinability and exceptional resistance to galling and seizing. It is primarily used on drawing, forming and shaping operations where its self-lubricating quality is advantageous. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness.
