Abstract
USS 18-8 MoL (AISI Type 316L) is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless with 2 to 3% molybdenum added for superior resistance to corrosion. It is formable and weldable. Its low carbon content virtually eliminates the hazard of intergranular corrosion after welding. Its many uses include chemical processing, petroleum refining and food processing. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness, creep, and fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-317. Producer or source: United States Steel Corporation.
