AISI 1118 is a resulfurized carbon steel for applications requiring a free-machining carburizing steel. Its relatively high manganese content provides increased hardenability in all applications and increased hardness and strength in uncarburized uses and in the core of carburized components. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness.
