Abstract
UNITEMP A-286 is an austenitic stainless steel suitable for applications requiring moderately high strength to 1300 F and oxidation resistance to about 1500 F. It is also satisfactory for service as low as 423 F in two conditions: (1) Solution treated plus aged and (2) Cold worked plus aged. This alloy is also used in high-strength non-magnetic applications because it remains essentially non-magnetic even after severe cold working. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness and creep. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-295.
