USS TRI-TEN is a high-strength low-alloy steel primarily intended to reduce weight, or to increase durability in applications involving cold forming, welding, and moderately severe impact loading. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive and shear strength as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SA-46. Producer or source: United States Steel Corporation. Originally published August 1956, revised May 1973.
