Abstract

AISI 8822 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum carburizing steel of fairly high hardenability. Its high core strength and durable carburized case make it suitable for many heavy-duty applications. It can also be used without carburizing. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SA-288. Producer or source: Alloy steel mills and foundries.
