ALLEGHENY A-286 is an austenitic iron-nickel-chromium alloy designed for service up to 1300 F where high strength and corrosion resistance are required, and for service at higher temperatures where the applications are for lower stresses. It is an age-hardenable alloy. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness, creep, and fatigue. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-4. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation. Originally published December 1952, revised September 1966.
